The Walking Dead - Season 2

New trailer for Season 2 of The Walking Dead was released at Comic-Con this week, and it looks every bit as good as season 1.  If you haven't seen season 1, it is only 6 episodes so you should probably just go to Amazon, lay down the $9.99 and watch all of it today.

Finally...some respect for WWF entrance music

1990's WWF was as good a source of entertainment as there has ever been in the history of this planet. And if you disagree, I just don't give a damn.  Oh, and I am not referring to it as the WWE cause that is just ridiculous.

Bill Simmon's wrote a pretty awesome article today on the art of the wrestling entrance and I highly recommend it. And just for your entertainment, I've included one of the original entrance videos from the greatest entertainer of our time; Mr. Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea.

The Amazing Spider-Man Teaser is out

When I heard they were doing another spider-man movie with Andrew Garfield taking over for Tobey Maguire I assumed they would not start the story over from the start.  Judging, from this first trailer it looks like I was wrong...

What Fascinated Me Today: 19 July 2011

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES –This is old news by now, but HP7 Part 2 had a teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before it.  The trailer is pretty blah, but you get your first peak of Bane so that's something at least.  At the end of the day, this is a movie that could have no trailer, no poster, no press at all, and it would still make $150 million opening weekend (Facebook).

DJANGO UNCHAINED - Kevin Costner is reportedly going to be a part of Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming western flick.  He is rumored to be playing a hard-ass slave owner who trains his slaves to fight eachother for slave owners' amusement.  I could see this casting job going either way, but it's a Tarantino movie so I'm sure it will all work out (Collider).

BREAKING BAD  Season 4 of the Emmy winning show premiered on AMC Sunday to huge ratings.  This show has always been amazing, but after last years awards season showing it seems like it is going to finally get the ratings it deserves.  If you're new to the show, then the Season 4 premiere was a perfect indication of what the show is like; very slow plot development followed by moments of rediculous, absurd, unforeseen, explosive action...and I love every second of it (EW).

ANOTHER EARTH – I think I'm a little late to the game on hearing about this upcoming movie, but it was a smash at Sundance and is getting released this week.  The trailer looks pretty incredible, although quite a bit similar to the premise of Lars von Trier's upcoming Melancholia.  Read the linked interview with one of the stars (who also happens to be Ethan from Lost) and you'll get a better feel for the movie (HP).

CHARLIE KAUFMAN – What drew me to this article was (1) the fact the Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze are making another movie together (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) and (2) the fact that they may have the recently un-retired Joaquin Phoenix star.  However, what stole the show on this article was the following comment on the message board:
A Man Of Discerning Taste

Are you intentionally ignoring that Kaufman embodies the very worst of modern hip faux-intellectualism? (Jonze too, I guess. It's kind of hard to care one way or another about him.)

The "very worst of modern hip faux-intellectualism"?  There is a special place in hell for people who use phrases like that on internet message boards.
