MOVIE REVIEW: The Hangover Part II

In Short:
Not quite as nice the second time around, but The Wolfpack still provides a ton of laughs in Bangkok in part deux

Bagpipe-o-Meter:
6.5/10

My Ramblings:
Two weeks ago I wrote the following and I could have never guessed just how much “reusing” there really would be:
I badly want it to be as enjoyable as the first, but the previews make it seem like the plan on reusing most of the jokes from the first so I have my doubts

Literally written by using the Find and Replace function with “Bangkok” for “Las Vegas” and “Monkey” for “Baby”, the movie still makes it happen.  Stu (Ed Helms) is getting married (to a non-hooker) in Thailand and all the characters from the first film are invited.  The night before the wedding they head out for one drink, everyone accidentally goes dark side and they spend the rest of the movie putting together the pieces.  Stu’s soon to be brother-in-law gets misplaced in the melee, strippers again enter the picture, and a late film superstar cameo wraps up the filthy film.

All the jokes are reused, only this time with a slightly darker (and sadly often more offensive) spin.  The movie relies a little too heavily on shock value and Alan (Zach Galifianakis), but even the second time around the characters and the humor are hilarious and it is definitely a theater experience I highly recommend.
