MOVIE REVIEW: The Hangover Part II

In Short:
Not quite as nice the second time around, but The Wolfpack still provides a ton of laughs in Bangkok in part deux

What Fascinated Me Today: 15 May 2011

BEST FILMS OF THE ‘00s  - This list has been out for awhile, but still a pretty accurate list of the best films of the past decade.  I don’t have too many qualms with the list except I’d put No Country for Old Men as the distant Number 1 (AV Club)

THE HANGOVER PART IISome new clips from the upcoming comedy.  I badly want it to be as enjoyable as the first, but the previews make it seem like the plan on reusing most of the jokes from the first so I have my doubts (Huffington Post)

ASHTON KUTCHERI can honestly say that I’ve never seen a single episode of Two and a Half Men, but pretty much everyone else in the world has.  Ashton is replacing the Warlock for a cool $900K an episode (TMZ)

SUPER 8 – Spielberg + Abrams + Aliens = No doubter.  This trailer has been out for awhile but I saw it again today at Bridesmaids and was reminded of how bad ass this movie looks (YouTube)

PROJECT NIMUpcoming movie about teaching a chimp to talk, which is supposed to be a commentary on the human experience, but I just want to see it cause I’m a sucker for monkeys (Apple)

THE KILLING If you haven’t been watching this new show on AMC, do yourself a favor and catch up immediately.  Only a couple weeks til the finale and it is one of the more enjoyable shows I’ve seen in the past couple years (CNN)

In Short:
Thor disappoints with a non-existent nemesis and a shotty storyline in this film filled with an excess of not so pretty CGI

What Fascinated Me Today: 10 May 2011

ARNOLD - Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have separated after 25 years of marriage (People).  Fascinating, but nowhere near as fascinating as this awesome clip of a young, yoked out Arnold (YouTube)

ONE-LINE WONDERS – Great list of some bad-ass one liners from The Onion (AV Club)

THE BEAVER – Am I crazy or does this new movie about Mel Gibson wearing a hand puppet to cope with his depression (yes, you read that plot summary correctly) actually look kind of good? (YouTube)

DEXTER – The first Promo for Dexter Season 6 is floating around the interwebs and it doesn’t really tell you anything about the new season but it still reminds you how incredible this show is (Collider)

HEMATOMAS – Not at all entertainment related, but a fascinating video of some gross ass head growths (Cage Potato)

Bridesmaids: 91% on Rotten Tomatoes?!?!?

As of about 8PM today, "Bridesmaids" has a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is shocking.  I thought the previews looked funny by 91% far exceeds anything I would have expected.  Looks like I know what I'm seeing this weekend...

The STACKED cast of HBO's "Oz"

If you haven't ever seen the old school HBO show "Oz" (1997 - 2003) I highly recommend you check it out.  The subject matter (a hardcore prison and its inmates) is a little bit gritty at times but makes some pretty amazing television.  Perhaps even more amazing than the quality of the show itself, is the huge number of recognizable faces that once start on the show.
Check out the full list of "Oz" starts after the jump...

In Short:
A good man battles through some not so good times in this uplifting family story made all the better by the great performances of Paul Giamatti and Amy Ryan

Michael Bolton's still got it...

The Lonely Island boys were back with a new jam on SNL last night, and while Michael Bolton stole the show still another great track from Andy Samberg and his crew.

Top 5 "Oh, it's that guy"s

I was watching "The Negotiator" today (average movie made slightly above average because Sam Jackson is a pimp), and twice I saw an actor on screen that prompted me to say, "Oh, it's that guy".  There are a ton of those actors that you recognize because they seem to be in every movie and/or TV show out there, but they haven't quite gotten famous enough for you to actually know their names.

Hence, after the jump is a list of 5 of my favorite "Oh, it's that guy"s...

In Short:
Ghost Face stumbles and bumbles his way through another plethora of victims in Woodsboro for this enjoyable horr-omedy

Welcome to Random Media Ramblings

Hello internet user...

Nothing flashy about this blog, just a place for me to ramble on whatever Movies and TV and other random media I'm watching at the time.  Like everyone else on the planet, I watch a ton of movies and a ton of TV, and I'm full of opinions about both.  This gives me a place to air these opinions, and gives you some insight into my horribly unqualified and uneducated opinions...

Enjoy...and get used to the Braveheart references as I'm sure they will be plentiful.  What can I say, I'm a sucker for Scottish accents and face paint...
