2011 Golden Globe Nominations are Released

Yes I know I haven't posed in months...I wish I had an excuse but its really just laziness, and the fact that I work and am getting an MBA, but mostly just the laziness...

The 2011 Golden Globe Nominees have been announced and you can see the full list here.  As usual, the list has some winners and some (this year HUGE) losers.  My most favoritest and least favoritest nominees can be seen after the jump.

And yes I comment on movies that I haven't reviewed yet, but I've seen the majority of them, full reviews will be coming in the upcoming weeks when I stop being a slob.

Because Aaron Rodgers is Boring Me...

I planning on spending today laying on my couch watching the Packers and then the Brewers...but if you're watching the Packers embarrass the pathetic St. Louis Rams then you know there really isn't much left to watch in this game.  So I've been spending my time perusing some movie trailers and I actually stumbled across quite a few I hadn't seen yet that I wanted to pass along.  Enjoy, and see the full trailers after the jump:

You've Been Trumped
6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park
Shame
My Week with Marilyn

In Short:
Sudden bursts of violence interlaced with extended periods of drama building silence set the mood in this extremely unusual and extremely entertaining Oscar contender with a clear 80's throwback feel

Highlights from TIFF

The Toronto International Film Festival is coming to a close, and it sounds like Shame was the most talked about movie of the festival.  I hadn't heard much of the film prior to the festival, but now I know it stars the up-and-coming Michael Fassbender (who also starred in X-Men: First Class and the soon to be released Oscar contender A Dangergous Method) and tells the story of "30-something Brandon, his myriad sexual escapades, and what happens when his wayward younger sister moves in with him" (IMDB).

For more details on the festival, see the list that indieWire put together giving a rundown of all the films.

Name that Movie Poster

If you're a super hip young man such as myself then you are probably spending your Friday night in a similar way to myself; shirtless, eating raw cookie dough, drinking Amp Energy Drinks (despite no intention of moving farther than the distance between the toilet, the fridge, and the couch), trying to act like you don't have a boatload of MBA readings to do, waiting for your stomach to settle from the two pounds of enchiladas you just ate so you can focus on Arthur which you rented from your local Redbox due to lack of other options, and wasting time on Sporcle.

If you fit that description then (1) congratulations and (2) try to beat my scores in the Movie Poster Sporcle games:

The Muppets Teaser Trailer is Awesome

I hadn't seen any of the trailers yet for The Muppets, but this first one is an awesome parody of the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer, and the movie is very much now on my radar.  The movie has too many good things going on to fail:

  1. Jason Segel
  2. Muppets
  3. Amy Adams
  4. Amazing Trailers
  5. Muppets
The Muppets is coming out 23 November 2011.
